Customer Reviews

What our clients are saying.

I needed a 2000lbs metal lathe moved to a shipping depot, then sent across the province. Talked to Chris and he took care of it all. Picked it up, put it on a pallet, wrapped it up, and dropped it off. Saved me a 30 hour round trip. Let’s just say this was a refreshing experience in today’s world.

Well worth the price. I have used several movers over the years and found that Robson is the best. The guys were very professional and courteous. No scratches, dents or broken furniture. Great job guys and I’ll be sure to recommend your company and use you next time.

Big thanks to Chris and the crew. Moving is so stressful, and they showed up and just got the job done. They figured out how to get those pesky surprises resolved. Made the process much easier for us. Kept smiling and kept going.

I hired Robson Moving to relocate my business. I had a lot of fragile items so did not want to take the risk of an unprofessional hire. Robson exceeded my expectations. They were responsive, careful and efficient as well as very kind. I would not hesitate to hire them again. A really awesome company to work with.

We have moved many places over the years with moving companies and we have finally found one with soul. We decided to move closer to family in Windsor from London Ontario and researched the moving companies (large and small )in both cities. Moving to a smaller apartment in Windsor would be a more difficult move. We wanted and found professionalism in Robson Cartage . They did not have either the lowest or highest estimate of the other companies but as soon as Janice explained the principles of the company we were prepared to go with them . The move took two days and each day they arrived on time and ready for work which they did expeditiously without the standard complaining or thoughtlessness. Everything was handled with care as though it was their own property and they stayed until complete. All in all it was the best move we have ever had and we can thank The Robson team for their superiority to other movers. They made our move simpler than expected . Monty and Susan Chamandy

FAQs

Moving questions, answered.

Can you move house in one day?

Yes, moving house in one day is feasible, particularly if you're relocating a small to medium-sized home and have done extensive preparation beforehand. This includes packing all items in advance, disassembling furniture, and arranging for sufficient transportation and manpower. Hiring a professional moving company can also expedite the process. However, the feasibility greatly depends on the size of the move and the distance involved.

What do most movers charge per hour?

Movers generally charge between $80 to $120 per hour, but this rate can vary depending on several factors. The cost can be influenced by the region, the complexity of the move, the number of movers required, and additional services like packing or heavy lifting. In larger cities or for more specialized services, rates can be higher. It's also common for moving companies to have minimum charge policies, such as a minimum number of hours. During peak moving seasons, like summer, prices may also be higher due to increased demand.

Can you move house any day?

Yes, you can move house on any day, but it's important to consider factors like moving company availability, lease or contract terms, weather, and personal convenience. Weekends, holidays, and the end of the month tend to be busier for moving companies. Planning and booking in advance can ensure you get your preferred date.

What is the cheapest month to move?

The cheapest month to move is typically during the off-peak season, which is late fall and winter, from October to April. Demand for movers is lower during these months, leading to potentially lower rates.

How long before moving should you start packing?

It's ideal to start packing for a move at least 4-6 weeks before the moving date. This allows ample time to sort, pack, and organize items without rushing, and to handle unexpected challenges or delays. For larger homes or more complex moves, consider starting even earlier.
